What do I need to do a search?
To perform a search, you must be a member of the Used Car Dealers Association of
Ontario.
As a member, you have an Account Number and Password.
The Account Number will be in the following format:
###### ####, where all of the characters
are numbers.
The Password will be in the following format:
AAA &&&&, where the
first three characters are letters, and the last four are a combination of numbers
and letters.

What are my Account Number and Password?
When you joined the UCDA, you were assigned an account number and password. If you
have misplaced them, please call the UCDA office at 416-231-2600 or 1-800-268-2598,
and they can be obtained.

What are the hours of operation?
You can submit your search at any time. The search facility is available 24 hours
a day, 7 days a week. Some of the data sources we access take their information
offline overnight, for maintenance and upgrades. You can still submit your search,
and it will be available under Previous Searches, after 9 am the next business day.

What searches are available?
Ontario Lien Search - A search of the Ontario Ministry of Consumer and Business
Services Personal Property and Security Registry. Includes Kwik Check branding information.
Auto Check™ - A comprehensive search of five data sources to determine if a vehicle
has been branded, declared a total loss, reported in an accident, or been stolen.
History Search - A search of the Ontario Ministry of Transportation’s database for
the ownership history of a vehicle in Ontario.
Can Check™ - A search of the registration status of the VIN in every Canadian province,
and whether the VIN has come from the US.
Out Of Province Lien Search – a search of the requested Province’s Personal Property
and Security Registry.
Carfax® - Recommended
for vehicles from the US
Ontario Drive Clean - A search of the Ontario Ministry of the Enviroment’s database to find if vehicle pass emissions test.

How can I ask a question about a search I performed?
If you have questions regarding a search, please call the UCDA Search Facility at
416-599-7412 or 1-800-668-8265, 9:00am to 8:00pm Monday to Friday, and 9:00am to
5:00pm on Saturdays.
If you have a legal question, we have two lawyers on staff. They are available,
free to members, 9:00am to 5:00pm Monday to Friday at 416-231-2600 or 1-800-268-2598.

Why do I return to the logon screen when I try to do a new search?
The system automatically logs you out after a period of inactivity. Once this time-out
has happened, you must logon again.

Regardless of whether you perform a search online, or through an operator, there
